This describes what Vidyaan collects, why, and what we do not do with it. It is written for the students, trainers and administrators who use the platform, not for a lawyer.
Vidyaan is operated by its founding team in Pune, India. A college that adopts Vidyaan is the owner of its students' records; we process those records to provide the platform to that college.
We collect only what the platform needs to function:
Your camera is never published to a class until you say yes, and that choice is asked again for every session — consent is per-session, not once-and-forever. The permission is enforced when your media access token is issued, so declining actually prevents publishing rather than only hiding a button.
Refusing the camera has no effect on your attendance, your ability to answer questions, or your score. You can attend every class with your camera off.
Live video is transmitted between the participants of a session. We do not build a library of class recordings, and video is not used to train any model.
Identity and academic records are retained for as long as the college keeps its Vidyaan account, so that result history stays intact across a student's time at the college. Live camera streams are not stored after a session ends. A college can ask us to export or delete its data.
You can ask to see the personal data Vidyaan holds about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Route the request through your college's training or placement office, or contact us directly through the contact page and we will work with your college to action it.
If this page changes in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will make that change visible here and date it. This version reflects the platform as it currently stands, ahead of the live class features being generally available.
